Freewill
Church family, today was an amazing day full of reverence towards the Lord and we heard Pastor Brian Gourley deliver a POWERFUL message on the heart of worship! I loved every second of it, and felt honored to be there with you all. Recently, I deleted my social media accounts (a few days ago) to place my full attention on Jesus. I switched to a flip phone, again (haha), and decided that I will put my focus into being a good steward of this ministry. I want to talk with you a bit about the conversation I had with my brothers throughout the week when we were all sitting at the kitchen table.
The conversation started with questions regarding the character of God in both the Old and New Testament. We talked about how His beautiful character shines through at all times. During this discussion, the topic of freewill came up. What is freewill?
We know one thing, and it’s that we have two paths to walk down. There is the straight & narrow path and the wide path that most people choose. The fact that these are the only two ways to go, proves to be as strong as gravity itself. Much like gravity, we are contained by these two roads and they are the only destinations that we honestly have to run towards. Inside of this container of one choice path or the other, is our freewill. We, meaning humanity as a whole, do not have any other options. One path leads to eternal life in Christ Jesus our LORD, and the other leads to eternity in the darkest place imaginable. Jesus didn’t come down here only to warn us of this reality, but to save us from the widest path imaginable. I imagine it is depicted as wide, because there are many who choose it.
The only way to be saved is by accepting what Jesus did for you on the cross. He defeated sin and the grave, resurrected on the third day, and later ascended into heaven. I like the way that the KJV Bible calls the skies the “heavens”, because it makes you realize how close to earth heaven really is. We must believe that Jesus is Lord, and accept Him fully as such over our lives. He can do great and powerful works through us, if only we let Him. What better way to spend this life, than to be ruled by Love Himself? ❤
“The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord cause His face to shine on you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His face to you, And give you peace.’ – Numbers 6:24-26
