Isaiah 61:3
I went to church today after being in a season of hiding since Autumn of last year. Before we left the house, I felt the Holy Spirit motion me away from the perfume I was about to put on my body. He said, “I have a scent for you there.” So, I obeyed and put my perfume down on the counter without using it. I thought to myself “Hmmm.. maybe I am going to get to experience the supernatural fragrance that I sense at times during worship?” My husband drove us to Eau Claire, while I knitted the blanket I’ve been working on for little Oakley. 🩷 My niece’s first birthday is coming up here soon! Her blanket is going to look exactly like Layla’s so they can have matching ones. When we got there, we heard a very powerful word from Bill Trescher and on the screen he had a picture of Jesus’ hands holding a clock. Next to this image were the words, “It Is TIME.”
After the service, my youngest brother walked up with me for prayer. The two men who were about to pray over us asked us what we would like prayer for. I said, “Pray about anything that God puts on your heart.” They asked us if we had ever received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and I had. We all joined together in prayer as my brother received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They anointed his head with oil, and I knew that he had received the anointing of David because of the confirmation that took place right before this moment. As we prayed over him, my eyes were closed and I felt them anoint my head with oil as well. Once my brother received his POWERFUL anointing from the Lord, I asked them what type of oil they had anointed us with. It was the oil of joy!
One of the men said that when I come to church next Sunday, he will bring in a bottle for me to have. I am very grateful for this unexpected gift! What a beautiful blessing from the Lord! 🌹 I signed up to be a part of their altar team so I can pray for others and allow the Holy Spirit to use me in a way He deems fit. Jesus works in mysterious ways. I wasn’t expecting to receive prayer for myself, and had gone up there with the intention of lifting my brother up to the Lord in prayer. Like I’ve mentioned countless times, none of this is about me. It’s beautiful to see His good plans unfold in the lives of those who love Him and I feel honored to be a part of it all.
The two men asked me if I wanted to take in the scent of the anointing oil, so I did. I sensed the fragrance of cinnamon, myrrh and roses. The Holy Spirit reminded me of what He had said to my heart before I left the house, regarding the scent he had for me to experience. When I was offered a bottle of it, I realized what the Lord wanted me to do with it. I will anoint others with the oil of joy and rejoice over what Jesus does for them. I will use it to glorify the LORD of hosts!
“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.” – Isaiah 61:3
